TWO of five prisoners who escaped from the Naboro Medium Facility in September last year appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.
Isoa Waqa and Solomoni Qurai appeared before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili.
Mr Ratuvili advised the duo to make a bail application before returning to prison yesterday.
However, Waqa informed Mr Ratuvili his medical report went missing in the holding cell. Qurai on the other hand said he could not find his medical report.
Mr Ratuvili advised the Director of Public Prosecutions to prepare the duo's medical reports by the next hearing date. In addition to the escape charges, Waqa and Qurai are charged with damaging property, criminal intimidation and resisting arrest. Waqa is also charged with theft.
They were last represented by Suva lawyer Aseri Vakaloloma but in court yesterday they said they would like to seek the services of a Legal Aid lawyer.
Waqa, 30, was serving an eight-year sentence when he escaped from the Naboro medium facility while Qurai, of Tavuki on Kadavu, was serving a life sentence.
Their bail application will be heard on January 30.
