Police focus on west in hunt for murder suspect

Update: 6:07PM THE hunt for 43-year-old Sailasa Mociu has moved to the Western Division after he was last sighted in Nadi.

In a release, Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro called for the assistance of the public for more information regarding the whereabouts of the murder suspect.

Mociu is alleged to be involved in the murder of a 33-year-old woman of Naisaumua Village in Tailevu who was stabbed to death.

Ms Naisoro said Mociu was last sighted in Meigunyah along the Nadi Back Road. She said the assailant was originally from Nadi.

She said a special task force team was deployed to the west following the sighting.

She urged the public with any information that would lead to his arrest to contact their nearest community post or police station or call 917.
