Hunger strike cancelled

Update: 2:20PM THE proposed hunger strike by parents and children of a Labasa high school has been cancelled after they claimed that they had been dispersed by police.

They have resorted to legal proceedings against the Ministry of Education.

Acting Police Commander North Assistant Senior Superintendent of Police Fulori Rainibogi has refuted claims from the group and said that they had just visited them to warn them not to interfere with the public peace.

Group representative Rajesh Lal confirmed that they are talking with their lawyers to begin legal proceedings against the Ministry of Education.
