FORMER Italy international and rugby agent Apenisa Vodo is pleased with Adrea Cocagi's progress in Italy.

Vodo who scouted the 18-year old outside centre while playing rugby at Pacific Harbour said Cocagi had progressed well in Europe.

Cocagi plays for Laquila Rugby Club in Italy top division. He signed a two-year contract with French Top 14 club Stade Francais two weeks ago. The former Lomary Secondary School student joins former national sevens rep Waisea Nayacalevu at the club.

Vodo said determination and hard work were key factors in Cocagi's progress.

"He was really happy when he signed the contract. It was fast for him to progress in Europe and as his agent, I am happy for him, he is really focused and he is enjoying the benefits.

"For me personally, it is a bonus because Adrea (Cocagi) is my first rugby player as an agent.

"I saw him playing in Pacific Harbour and I saw the amount of time he spent training in the gym, that really motivated me to try and open a fortune door for him.

"So I called Laquilla Rugby Club because I know them and they decided to sign him up for a year. Not long after this Stade Francaise invited him to attend a trial and he successfully landed the contract."

Vodo said hard work had paid off Cocagi's colourful young rugby career.

He believes the Serua lad could be a superstar in rugby if he continues to strive for the best.

Cocagi's contract with Laquilla ends next May.

He will join Stade Francais for the 2013-14 season.
