Lui's keen to prove his worth

VETERAN Samoa national sevens rep Lolo Lui will be part of the shadow Samoan national team at the Uprising International 7s tournament which starts this Friday in Lautoka.

Lui who has proven himself in recent International Rugby Board tournaments will try to impress head coach Faamoni Lalomilo for a spot to Wellington and Las Vegas.

And nippy playmaker Alatasi Tupou is also in the mix.

Regulars Tulolo Tulolo, Fa'alemiga Selesele, Levi Asifa'amatala, Lio Lolo, Robert Lilomaiava, Sani Niue and Taulagi Afamasaga who all played at the recent tournaments in Dubai and George will also grace the Uprising tournament.

Samoa is drawn in Pool FWWC with the Aussie Thunderbolts, Lautoka Hurricanes and Samurai Barracudas.

The side plays Lautoka Hurricanes in its opening match on Friday at Churchill Park at 2.22pm.

Samoa, Australia, New Zealand and Tonga have all sent their shadowed national teams to compete at the Uprising event prior to the Wellington 7s next month.
