Resort helps school

A WESTERN Division school often used as an evacuation centre during natural disasters has received a timely boost from one of the division's premier holiday escapes.

The Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa gave $6000 to Andrews Primary School in Nadi in the aftermath of the 2012 floods with the funds allocated towards the payment of outstanding school fees, refurbishments and upgrading gardens.

Sofitel Fiji also conducted a book drive for the school library.

"Most families of this school were affected by the floods and it was Sofitel's wish to offer these children the chance of a fair education," said public relations and marketing co-ordinator Moira Lee. Guests at the popular family retreat have also supported the school by providing books and stationery since the floods.
