DEFENDING champions Ba moved to the top of the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries points table after a resounding 6-0 victory over archrivals Lautoka at Churchill Park yesterday.
Avinesh Warran Suwamy, Malakai Tiwa and Mavileko Nakama scored two goals each in the fixture.
The big win was a relief for many of the Ba fans after the Men in Black miss-fired against Nadroga, only managing a 1-0 victory at Lawaqa Park on Saturday.
Ba coach Yogendra Dutt said they worked on thier mistakes in yesterday's fixture.
"Scoring six goals against Lautoka is a massive achievement," Dutt said.
"We corrected many things in this game and the boys played their part. It is good to win in consecutive matches.
"We did not have much rest time but in the tournaments it is the same scenario. So we are gearing up for the tournaments this way."
Suva coached, by Gurjeet Singh, moved to second position on the NFL points table after handing Labasa their second consecutive loss at Subrail Park yesterday.
The Capital City side beat Labasa 3-0. On Saturday Suva beat Savusavu 4-1. Suva trails Ba on points differential.
Nadi is in third spot after yesterday's 1-all draw against Savusavu.
This Saturday at Prince Charles Park, Navua will face Ba while Nadi plays Rewa. At Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka Nadroga will play Labasa and Lautoka will face Savusavu.
On Sunday at Churchill Park, Nadroga will take on Savusavu while Lautoka will play Labasa.
