Wardens win in Korovou

WARDENS Green had a perfect build-up to the Uprising International 7s tournament after winning the Northland 7s in Korovou yesterday.

The side edged Samurai Gold 12-5 at Gatward Park to qualify for the Vancouver Tiqavia 7s tournament next month.

Uprising settled for the plate after thumping Veivota 24-0 in the final and Naimasi One won the bowl competition.

The Wardens will join Samurai Gold, Uprising, Delana, Veiyasana, Naimasi, Mosquito, Veivota, Tai and Inter-City Wainuqa for the Vancouver 7s.

Tournament official Levani Kaunivanua said it was a successful tournament. He said they had opened the invitation to outside teams and clubs affiliated to the Northland Rugby Union.
