MORE than 10 Marist Brothers High School former scholars took time out to renovate and provide a fresh coat of paint to the school's art and craft room yesterday.

The former scholars of class 2002 to 2003 worked tirelessly to give a new look to the old rundown art and craft room which they had fond memories of during their school days. Former scholar Sikeli Qunadovu said the renovation work on the art and craft room was dedicated to a former student who passed away recently.

Mr Qunadovu said it was during his friend's funeral they decided to meet often and come up with a school project they could assist in.

"We were motivated to come up with the project and we had contributed in raising the funds for the materials that we needed such as paint and window frames," he said.

"This is our first school project and we hope to continue by providing more assistance to the upgrading of the school.

"We will be replacing all window frames and installing new louver blades." He said they had raised $1300 in four days for the project but had only used $700 for the renovation work.
