NORWAY Junior national table tennis rep Olav Dahl and Oxyna Gobure of Nauru are making waves at the Fiji Open Championship in Suva yesterday.
The duo impressed on day one of the Kasabias-sponsored event at the FMF Gymnasium.
Dahl, playing under the guidance of his father and former Fiji table tennis coach Terry, was in top form despite carrying a niggling knee injury while Gobure, the defending under-21 champion, is looking good to defend her title.
Gobure beat Viviane Bale, Grace Yee and Eileen Brown in her early matches yesterday.
"I am here to defend my title, it's always good to come and compete in Fiji," she said.
"I am happy with the results so far and I am confident of retaining my title," the-17-year old said.
The tournament continues today.
