BRISBANE - Seasoned fighter Barry Dunnett wants to end the trend of footballers taking to the ring by knocking Quade Cooper out in his pro-boxing debut next month.
Boosted by the support of the boxing fraternity, the unheralded-yet-experienced Dunnett is licking his lips at the chance to make an example of the Wallabies five-eighth on February 8.
Their bout is on the undercard of another football-playing, part-time boxer Sonny Bill Williams' heavyweight stoush with South African Francois Botha at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
"I think all the fighting community gets a bit annoyed at athletes wanting to switch codes," he said.
