Depot for garages

THE Suva City Council will look at converting half of its Samabula Depot into garage spaces as it works to bring down the number of illegal garages in Suva this year.

Suva special administrator Chandu Umaria said the council noticed a lot of illegal garages operating around the Suva area.

"In line with government policies to bring people into business, we will convert half of our depot into garages available to those who would like to rent them," he said. Mr Umaria said there was ample space in the depot, saying it would eventually house 20 garages.
