Helpers return home

Maciu Malo
Saturday, January 12, 2013

FIFTEEN Lands Department workers from Suva who were part of rehabilitation efforts in the west have returned home.

They returned to Suva yesterday after having been away from their loved ones since Tropical Cyclone Evan last month.

In a surprise visit to Lautoka yesterday, Lands permanent secretary Tevita Boseiwaqa thanked them for their efforts.

"I must commend these workers for sacrificing their time with their loved ones and to come and help the people in the west," Mr Boseiwaqa said.

"The workers completed their tasks (today) yesterday and they are looking forward to reuniting with their loved ones in Suva," he added.
