UNITED Rescue Mission has been giving out much-needed relief supplies to residents along the Namara Tiri area in Labasa in an effort to reach out to the less fortunate in the community.

URM co-ordinator Jody Vella lauded local group, Unity in the Body of Christ youths for helping them deliver supplies to the needy residents in the area.

"Families that were affected by Tropical Cyclone Evan have also been assisted in terms of the construction of their houses, supplying them with much-needed food supplies and other relief works since the natural disaster," she said.

"It is such an honour to be touching the lives of the needy out there and to actively participate in the construction of communities across Fiji.

"On the same token we are accomplishing God's will in reaching out to the poor and needy."

Ms Vella said the URM was not entirely devoted to relief works following natural disasters.
