THE Pearl Golf and Country Club has taken a new twist in keeping its golf course in tip-top condition.
Earlier this week, the club invested a substantial amount of money in four new American-made golf mowers.
The sophisticated machines will carry out maintenance on the course in just two days.
Pearl Golf and Country Club member Mark Spurling said the cost of the machines was more than $250,000.
"The four new American made rides on mowers are the latest specially designed machines that will drastically reduce the time taken to maintain greens and fairways on one of Fiji's best golf courses," Hurling said.
"These machines are very expensive and they reduce the work load. The work of two weeks in trying to keep the golf course in top condition will be done in two days by these machines."
He said they wanted to re-build the club into one of Fiji's best golf courses.
