ALL projects in the public sector investment program for the Eastern Division for 2012 will roll over to this year, says Commissioner Eastern Lieutenant Colonel Netani Rika.

On the priority list are foot crossings for the safety of children on their way to school and pregnant women on their way to health centres, Lt-Col Rika said.

"It was a concern because a lot of people in the division have to rely on foot crossings.

"The safety of people crossing the rivers and deep waterways is important."

He said one of the projects government would focus on was upgrading the road connecting Vunisea to Vunisei, Daku, Soso and Dravuwalu in Kadavu.

He said other projects to be completed this year were the Nairai Jetty in Lomaiviti, the Nalotu-Gasele -Nauciwai foot crossing in Kadavu, the Lakeba nursing quarters in Lau and the Jioma foot crossing in Kadavu. The only new project earmarked for this year is the $155,960 Malawai foot crossing.

The total budget for these projects is $2,095,960.
