TWO men appeared in the Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday charged with the murder of 26-year-old Navutu villager, Maciu Bakani earlier this week.
Etonia Bose and Livai Kaiviti Ratabua appeared before Magistrate Mosese Naivalu charged with one count of murder. According to the divisional prosecuting officer western, Assistant Superintendent of Police Anil Prasad, the 25-year-old security officer and 18-year-old sought legal assistance before giving their plea.
The case has been transferred to the High Court. ASP Prasad said the two men had until January 24 to get lawyers before their case would be recalled at the High Court in Lautoka.
