THE Northern Charity Alliance received $73,000 in grant from the Fiji Community Development Program (FCDP) — an Australian-funded civil society organisation.

Speaking at their monthly general meeting NCA secretary Ramesh Chand lauded the support from the FCDP saying the funds had been very helpful in their assistance work carried out on islands and settlements along Vanua Levu that were affected by Tropical Cyclone Evan.

Mr Chand said part of the funds had been diverted to much-needed aid like food items, water tank and construction of stands, school stationery and school fees.

"NCA has been allocated a total of 100 students to take into its care," said Mr Chand.
