Update: 6:26PM THE Water Authority of Fiji has stopped the use of 100 units to calculate water bills.
The use of 100 units to calculate water bills sparked concern in the country as customers started to receive increased bills.
Authority chief executive officer Opetaia Ravai said the issue with a lot of customers was the 100 units that WAF was using to estimate water bills.
That decision was based on average consumption of domestic household but we have since reviewed that decision and are immediately stopping the estimation of 100 units, Mr Ravai said.
He said the authority will revert to the old methodology of previous six months period of usage to estimate water bills.
And all customers overcharged as a result of estimation and the increased unit used to calculate water wills will be credited accordingly.
