FLYING Fijians head coach Inoke Male was not happy with the fitness of the players who turned up at the first fitness test for the Pacific Rugby Cup in Suva yesterday.

He was however satisfied with the turnout of the eastern players at the HPU Gym in Suva and expected the same for the fitness test at the Lawaqa Park HPU Gym in Sigatoka.

"Attendance today (yesterday) was good but the overall performance of the players was not a good sign," the former national number eight said.

"So after watching them today (yesterday) we have given them their programs and they need to follow it," he said.

He said he wanted to see big changes at the next fitness test in February.

"I am going to Sigatoka early tomorrow (today) to see the players there and I hope to see something better than what I saw in Suva.

"I have told the players that the next time they come here (fitness test), they should at least pass the fitness test.

"This is because we will only work with the fit players and we don't have time to work on fitness for the PRC," Male said.

The PRC starts in March.
