A 25-YEAR-OLD farmer has appeared in the Labasa Magistrates Court charged with the attempted murder of another farmer.
The farmers are of Doidoi in Seaqaqa.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed the accused was remanded in Vaturekuka Prison.
"It is alleged the suspect attacked the 24-year-old victim at the back of the head with a cane knife," said Ms Naisoro.
"The victim received injuries to his neck and is in Labasa Hospital under medical examination."
In another incident, the victim of a knifing incident at Tukavesi is still under observation at Savusavu Hospital.
The suspect will reappear in the Savusavu Magistrates Court on February 5 after he was charged with one count of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
