And some roads in Nausori, especially near the banks of the river, are inaccessible right now.
The Toga Bridge is under water and people are using boats to travel their various destinations while the Waila Road is also closed to all traffic.
According to reports, the water level in the river started rising at 8am today and with rainfall still being experienced, it is expected to rise further.
Police officers have been deployed in and around Nausori Town and the flooded areas to ensure the safety of the public.
