FIJI Table Tennis Association is giving special concession to locals who want to be part of the intensive training program starting from today at the FMF Gymnasium in Laucala.
The two and half day training is a build-up to the Fiji Open Championship which will be held from January 11 to 13.
Fiji Table Tennis Association president Anthony Ho said young players wishing to take part in the training camp could register for a reduced entry fee of $35.
He said the beginners could pay only $20 to be part of the program.
The cost of the training camp for others is $100 which does not include accommodation or food. Lunch and refreshments can be provided for $15 per day.
“The training camp is conducted by top overseas coach Terje Dahl of Norway currently coaching in Australia and he would be assisted by other top mentors from around the region,” Ho said.
“Interested players can still enter as closing date for Fiji Open Championship is extended till Tuesday (today).”
Ho said top Australian youngster Olaf Dehl was set to participate in the camp along with other upcoming table tennis players from the region.
He said the training program would help fine-tune the participants’ skills and give them a good build-up for the championship.
Ho said they were expecting more than 20 participants in the camp.
