AN argument between two friends at the weekend turned tragic when one knifed the other in Seaqaqa.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed that the incident took place at Doidoi in Seaqaqa about 4.30pm on Sunday.
“The 24-year-old victim was struck by his 20-year-old friend during an argument,” Ms Naisoro said.
“The victim is in a critical condition at Labasa Hospital while the 20-year-old suspect is in police custody.
“This is the third knifing incident so far this year and it is sad to see how youths are handling themselves in their rage.”
Ms Naisoro said they would continue to plead with people to resolve their differences in an amicable manner instead of doing things they would later regret.
In a separate knifing incident that took place in Tukavesi last Saturday, a man has been charged and will appear in the Labasa Magistrates Court today.
