PARENTS must be prepared to send their children back to school on January 21 says Commissioner Western Commander Joeli Cawaki.

He made the comments at a heads of department meeting in Lautoka recently.

Speaking on the need for schools to be cleaned and repaired before school starts, Cdr Cawaki said parents and guardians had the responsibility to prepare for the new school year.

"We are working very hard to rehabilitate all of our schools but the onus too is on the parents. Apart from the schools, parents should be ready to send their children back to school," said Cdr Cawaki.

Meanwhile, school resources that were damaged during Cyclone Evan were surveyed in order to discern the amount of money needed to repair and repair them.
