A TOTAL of 75 golfers took part in the first off-season tournament of the year at the Fiji Golf Club yesterday.
Fiji Golf Club spokesperson Kevin Maitava said the response and competition in the tournament was quite good despite the afternoon rain.
"In the A grade, Umesh Shandil was first with 39 points followed by Barro Sowman and John Carlton with 36 points," he said.
The B grade was won by Tanasio Naqarase who carded 43 points. In second place was Malcolm Wandell while Mike Spencer finished third.
Kevin McCarthy took out the C grade with a score of 43 points followed by Ravindra Lal on 40 points and Rishi Ram on 33 points.
"In the Ladies competition, Division 1 was won by Lyndall Fisher with 33 points while Division 2 was won by Merelita McCarthy with 30 points.
"The Nearest-to-pin prizes were won by Ashok Nath and Joe Rodan on second and sixteenth."
