INMATES at the Lautoka Corrections Centre have once again joined forces with government and Lautoka City Council workers in its clean-up campaign before the new school year.
Eleven inmates were enlisted to clear out large trees from the grounds at St Thomas High School in Natabua with Ministry of Forestry officials while others have been working closely with Lautoka City Council workers clearing out rubbish in residential areas.
Fiji Corrections Services west media officer Semesa Uluiviti said the FCS would continue to respond to calls from authorities when their help was needed.
"We will continue to help and assist those in need and our leaders in returning our communities to normalcy," said Mr Uluiviti.
He said this was part of their assistance in terms of rehabilitation work and to also engage them in community work.
