PENANG Sangam High School student Shamal Sami has dedicated his highest academic achievement to his dad, Sarwani Sami who celebrated his birthday a day after the Fiji Seventh Form Examination results were released last week.
The science student topped his schoolmates and other Form Seven students in Rakiraki and Tavua when he scored 355 out of 400 marks in the FSFE.
"I wanted this for my dad because he is someone who has supported me and my siblings through our education," the young Mr Sami said.
"He is a cane farmer and from that alone he put me and my brother and sister through school."
The Form Seven student is now focused on a career in medicine.
"I will be going to the Fiji School of Medicine this year. My dream has always been to become a doctor and I am excited to start my tertiary education," he said.
