THE young Northern Stars volleyball team has been boosted with a new set of uniforms contributed by sponsor Sea Legend Charters Fiji.
The uniforms worth $500 will be officially handed to the team before their first game during the Nadi Volleyball Association knockout competition at the Airports Fiji Limited hard court in Namaka this morning.
The Northern Stars team was formed last year. It is made up of players who reside along the Northern Press Rd in Martintar.
Northern Stars founder Dan Vakadranu said the club included many schoolchildren. He said the idea to form the club sprung up last year after he saw some people playing volleyball when he shifted to his new residence at Northern Press Rd.
"The players in the club are aged between 17-25 years," Vakadranu said.
"We are grateful to Sea Legend Charters Fiji for sponsoring our new uniforms. The club has been doing well in the Nadi competition. The side is in the top three. There are many talented players. All of our players are in the Nadi Under-23 team."
The NVA knockout competition will start at 10am.
