ONE hundred students will be offered financial assistance under by the Public Service Commission under its Student Loan Scheme (SLS) program.
PSC permanent secretary Parmesh Chand said the offer was an option that school leavers and private tertiary students could apply for.
Mr Chand said the special consideration would be given to those whose parents' or guardians' combined annual income did not exceed $15,000.
"The SLS is only for local studies and there are currently 305 continuing students pursuing their studies at the USP, the five colleges of the Fiji National University, University of Fiji, Sangam School of Nursing in Labasa, Fulton College and Corpus Christi Teachers College," Mr Chand said in a statement.
"Upon the completion of the processing of applications, at least 100 new students will be identified for SLS assistance," Mr Chand said.
He said the students would be provided financial assistance until the end of their studies but would be required to repay the cost of their education once they found permanent employment.
Application forms are available at the PSC Scholarship Unit on Carnavorn Street in Suva, government service centres in Suva and Nausori and on the PSC website. Applications close next Friday.
