FOLLOWING the accident that claimed the life of a 22-year-old student, the police seek public co-operation in putting in place preventative measures to avoid further loss of life.
The police believe occupants of the vehicle were under the influence of alcohol.
Traffic director Senior Superintendent of Police Mahesh Mishra said the incident was unfortunate as they should have never been allowed to get in the vehicle in the first place.
"We have managed to ascertain where the group was initially drinking and it is unfortunate that no one stopped them from getting in the vehicle which could have prevented this tragic accident," he said.
SSP Mishra urged more public involvement in road safety.
