HEALTH officials have been working closely with Bua villagers affected by Tropical Cyclone Evan to prevent any disease outbreak.
While briefing President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau early this week, Bua sub divisional medical officer Doctor Ana Maisema said no report of an outbreak of any kind had been received.
However, because most affected areas were hot spots of typhoid, the team had distributed preventative medication and worked with villagers to ensure basic health lifestyles are observed.
Dr Ana told Ratu Epeli the villagers responded well and their positive attitude prevented a disease outbreak in the area.
