THREE new clubs have shown interest in joining the 2013 Lautoka Football Association local league competition.

The clubs hail from Field 40 and Waiyavi.

The LFA will hold a council meeting next Monday where the final list of clubs for the new season will be finalised.

LFA president Shalendra Prasad said the aim was to start the local league competition as early as possible.

He said they would not entertain any late registrations.

"The club registrations close on Monday," Prasad said.

"Some new teams have shown interest in participating in the local league. We will have to see the number of registered clubs then decide on the makeup of the competition."

Last year the LFA local league was played in two divisions. Press and Rifle Range finished on top in the tier one competition and went on to represent Lautoka in the National Club Championship.

Prasad said players wishing to represent Lautoka this season needed to register themselves with the officials.

He said the district training would start on Monday.

"There is no coach at the moment," Prasad said.
