FIVE players and two officials from Fiji under-19 basketball team have been selected to be part of the FIBA Oceania All Stars team.

Following Fiji men's and women's bronze medal wins at the FIBA Pacific Youth Championship in Melbourne in Australia last month, the seven were invited to attend a five-day training camp in Canberra.

Players Mataika Koyamainavure, Pita Gus Sowakula, Tiyana Kainamoli, Kelera Koyamainavure and Ro Maraia Naivaluvou along with officials Laisiasa Puamau and Mereleni Waqairawai will leave the country this Sunday to attend the training camp.

Basketball Fiji development officer and national U19 women's team coach Puamau said the training camp would be held at the Australian Institute of Sports.

The Fijian players along with others from the region (except Australia and New Zealand players) would later join the Oceania All Stars team to participate in the Australian Country Cup U19 Championship.

Puamau hopes the exposure would improve the players' skills and knowledge in basketball.
