Viria Blues Unity 7s

THE Viria Blues Unity Sevens tournament will be held on January 18 and 19. The first 32 teams to pay their registration fee of $160 will be accommodated. Winner walks away with $1200 and the runner-up gets $600. An under-17 and under-19 tournament will also be held. Only eight teams will be accommodated and registration fee is $100. Winner gets $500. SOCCER

U15 Clinic

FORMER national rep Tagi Vonolagi will be conducting a soccer skills coaching clinic for under-15 players on the second week of January. The coaching clinic will involve all the aspects of soccer development for a child to be able to play good football later in life. The skills program includes passing, ball control, turning skills, dribbling skills, defending and attacking with small sided games. Each child will have to pay a fee of $15 to enter the one-week coaching clinic which will be on half day programs. Those children who will be chosen from this clinic will attend a skills competition which includes juggling, heading, turning, dribbling and shooting later in the year with good prizes available for them. The first clinic will be held at Coconut Park in Nausori and will move later to Nasinu, Suva, Navua and Tailevu and also Levuka. Those selected from these centres will go for the Soccer Skills Championship which includes the above skills competition. For more information contact Tagi Vonolagi on 9694417.
