SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Ratu Josaia Ranamalo attended seven schools for different reasons as he progressed through secondary school.

But the Naitasiri lad did not let that deter him from achieving his goals in school, and his efforts were rewarded when he topped the students of Queen Victoria School in the Fiji Seventh Form Examination (FSFE) by scoring 323 out of a possible 400 marks.

Scoring 83 in English, 63 in Math, 82 in Geography, 86 in History and 72 in Economics, Ratu Jo said he had faced many difficulties but felt all his struggles had paid off.

He paid tribute to his parents, family and friends for their support and the patience and discipline to endure the challenges of being a high school student.

The 17-year-old played on the wing for the QVS under-18 team in the Deans Trophy competition. He wants children to know that all things are possible if they are willing to work hard for it.

His father Ratu Inia Tuicaumia said he had always instilled in his son the virtues of being obedient.
