OFFICIALS of the Naidiri Boxing Promotions teams are working around the clock to confirm more fights for their upcoming event in March.

The main bout between Zulfikar Joy Ali and Opeti Tagi for Ali's light middleweight title was confirmed last week and just yesterday, it was confirmed, Johnny Singh will face Aisea Naite in a supporting bout.

Promoter Mohammed Ali said they were still negotiating with other boxers for the remaining fights.

He said they wanted to confirm fights as soon as possible to ensure boxers had sufficient time to prepare.

"We want to get all the fights sorted out by the end of next week," Ali said.

"We want to have six fights in total in the program and so far we have confirmed only two," he said.

"We are still negotiating with boxers and we are close to confirming the main supporting bout but the boxers for the match will remain a secret for the next two weeks."

This is the second time the promoter is organising an event but it will be the first time under the new Boxing Commission of Fiji and the promulgation.

"We are looking forward to staging a good event where we intend to give upcoming boxers a chance to prove their worth in the ring.

"On the other hand we want to have interesting and entertaining matches for fans to enjoy."

Ali said his team was also trying to confirm sponsors for the event and they were making good progress.

The event will be held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on March 16.
