Salaseini Vosamana
Wednesday, January 02, 2013

ABOUT 1000 people gathered at the Seaqaqa growth centre in Macuata on Monday night to bid farewell to 2012 and welcome the New Year in style.

With fireworks lighting up the sky, loud music and people making merry, the first-ever mardi gras was hailed a success as people from as far as Batiri and Dreketi thronged in numbers to witness the annual event.

The event also saw a tight security patrol by police and military officers.
