Sofitel Fiji's creativity rewarded

Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa's original entry to this week's Bula Friday competition saw them take out the year's final prizemoney.

Staff members of the resort dressed up in their bula wear and posed at the resort's water slide.

Their creative setting set them apart from the rest of the entrants this week. Senior staff members of The Fiji Times that judged the entries said Sofitel staff members stood out and encouraged offices thinking of entering the Bula Friday competition to put thought into their poses as well.

"Sofitel Fiji is the Week 7 winner of $700. The Levuka Community Centre came in at a close second," the judges said.

"All offices this week looked really good in their bula outfits and we thank them for the effort they put into their outfits.

"But the staff of Sofitel Fiji stood out with their creative photo which earned them bonus points. So we encourage next week's entries to also think about their poses and their photo, not just their bula outfits.

"The prize next week will be $800," the judges added.

Meanwhile, the Bula Friday competition continues to wow participants with entrants praising the initiative.

"It's a really fun activity to do and gets the creative minds thinking. It motivates the staff to come up with different ideas on how to present themselves keeping in mind the bula spirit," Asheel Lata of Mega Care Pharmacy said.

"Makes the whole experience a memorable and an enjoyable one," she concluded.
