5K of Evan relief

THE Northern Charity Alliance has stamped their name into the hearts of people in the north once again as they gave a cheque of $5000 for relief assistance.

Receiving the cheque on Friday, an emotional Commissioner Northern Lieutenant Colonel Ilai Moceica said he was touched by the gesture.

"It has just been eight days after Cyclone Evan and your interest in the welfare of people who were affected by the cyclone is overwhelming," he said.

"It is good to know that there are people out there who are sympathetic to the ill fortune of others and are rather emphatic bringing out the best in them for the good of the unfortunate few.

"Christmas as we know it is about coming together and families reuniting and this ensures that these families also have the chance to do this given their circumstances," he said.
