Team rates damage

A TEAM from the Ministry of Works has been tasked by the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) to assist the Ministry of Education in the damage assessment of all schools in the Western Division.

Permanent secretary for Works Commander Francis Kean said the team of six quantity surveyors had been deployed from the Central Division to assist in the operation.

"The report from this exercise will be submitted to the commissioner's office and also to NDMO. The divisional education officer in Lautoka has been liaising with our team on this task," he said.

"The CEOs and teams from our Public Utilities have been working round-the-clock from day one to restore services to all areas affected by TC Evan," Cdr Kean said.
