Welfare assistance

SOCIAL Welfare recipients affected by Cyclone Evan have been requested to contact their nearest social welfare officers to register for any assistance that they may need.

The request came from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation last week.

Permanent secretary for Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation Govind Sami said families who were badly affected could seek assistance through various social welfare programs.

He said the ministry would work with offices of the divisional commissioners to identify such individuals and families to ensure that all are assisted.
