Volunteers with skills, profession

THE Fiji Volunteer Service now boasts a wide range of skilled professionals who may be recruited for their services.

Some of these professions include nurses, security personnel, teachers, accountants, administrators, engineers and technical officers.

The Ministry of Information said in a statement that these volunteers could be enlisted for their services by government and non-government organisations alike.

Public Service Commission's permanent secretary Parmesh Chand said this step ensured strategic strengthening of the organisation.

"We are promoting the regional component of the FVS as part of Fiji's Development Co-operation initiative," Mr Chand said.

This step was also aided by Fiji's Roving Ambassador to the Pacific islands, Litia Mawi.
