Christmas cheer for inmates' kids

CHRISTMAS came a little early for many prisoners' children as the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) presented them with gifts on Friday.

WAF's corporate communications team leader, Fulori Turaga said not having a mother or father around during the Christmas season did not mean that they were alone.

"We simply want to remind children that we are thinking of them in this festive season," Ms Turaga said, adding "we are there for them this Christmas."

The staff gave gifts to children whose ages range from three to 10 years.

Collecting the gifts on behalf of the children was Ema Saumaiwai, who will distribute the gifts to the children on Saturday.

"I'm so grateful for the effort shown.

"The gifts will certainly put a smile on the children's faces and it will make them feel special," Ms Saumaiwai said.
