A PRODUCT of Fiji has been awarded The Best Body Oil at the third annual NewBeauty Beauty Choice Awards.

Pure Fiji, which is based in Vatuwaqa, Suva, was informed about the award for Pure Fiji Nourishing Exotic Oil on Friday night.

The company started from a small kitchen table a few years ago and slowly became known locally and even internationally because of the quality of its products.

The annual award recognises the best products on the market as voted by thousands of NewBeauty readers, top beauty experts and the magazine's editors.

Pure Fiji director Gaetane Austin said it was the second reader's choice award given to the company and they all were very proud of it.

"We now have two worldwide awards and this oil has been nominated by readers as the best body oil," she said.

"There was no entry from us and we didn't know anything about it because it's the readers' choice. We are absolutely thrilled.

"We received a call on Friday informing us about the award and this is the best Christmas present that I've got so far."

Ms Austin said the award was a boost for the company in light of the difficult times being faced after the cyclone.
