Boom for northern hoteliers

CYCLONE Evan's devastation in the west has been a blessing in disguise for some hotels in Vanua Levu.

A group of tourists holidaying in the Western Division have been moved to the north to spend Christmas there.

Daku Resort owner John Rothnie-Jones said some tourists who were holidaying in the west had been relocated to hotels in Savusavu as a result of the damage to some hotels in the west.

"We have been fully booked at Daku Resort during this festive period," said Mr Jones.

"There has been an influx of tourists out here for their holiday trips and business has been good so far," he said.
