Inmates clean town

VISITORS to Labasa Town should expect a cleaner look after a group of inmates at the Vaturekuka Corrections Centre took time out to clear the wreckage of Tropical Cyclone Evan.

The inmates combed the streets of the northern town picking up debris with the assistance of corrections officers.

Centre supervisor northern ASP Penisoni Tuapati said the initiative was part of their community engagement in trying to fulfil their civic duties.
