LOOTERS caught red-handed at the peak of Cyclone Evan in Lautoka will appear before the Magistrates Court in Lautoka today.
Divisional police prosecutor west Anil Prasad said 15 people would appear in a special court proceeding.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed 12 men and two women had been charged with burglary and theft for allegedly breaking in and stealing $20,000 worth of groceries from a supermarket wholesale bulk between the 17th and 18th of this month.
In a separate incident, a 24-year-old man has been charged with burglary and theft.
He is alleged to have stolen $2000 worth of liquor and cigarettes from Shop n Save supermarket in Lautoka.
All will appear in a special court sitting at 2pm.
