WE sincerely apologise to Reverend Laisiasa Ratabacaca for an error in a front page article in the November 15 issue of Nai Lalakai.
The article incorrectly referred to Reverend Laisiasa Ratabacaca as being convicted of sexually assaulting a married woman who was a member of his congregation in Suva.
The article should have referred to Epeli Ratabacaca, the head of the All Nations Church, who was sentenced to two years in jail as a result of the conviction. Any impression that Reverend Laisiasa Ratabacaca was convicted of the offence or any criminal offence is sincerely regretted and we can confirm that the Reverend Laisiasa Ratabacaca was not the subject of the article and to our knowledge has never been convicted of any such offence.
We sincerely regret the distress and inconvenience caused to the Reverend Laisiasa Ratabacaca, his family and church by the error.
