Civil servants stay home

Update: 1:41PM CIVIL servants in all four divisions will remain at home today and tomorrow.

Public Service Commission permanent secretary Parmesh Chand, upon the advice of Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama, announced this today.

Mr Chand said all civil servants would be expected to return to work, subject to the availability of water and electricity, on Thursday.

He said all those engaged in essential services as advised earlier would require to report to work as per the instructions of their respective permanent secretaries and heads of departments.
